When you’re a work at home wife and mom, you may feel a little lonely from time to time. It’s only natural because you’re always at home and you will find yourself feeling alone. Sure, you go out to see friends and do the school run and things, but it can be a lonely business. However, it doesn’t have to be.
Just like when you are working on your productivity and sales and building your business, you can also think about working on your support system. There are communities that members can turn to in most businesses and industries. Why not create one for your fellow WAHWMs near you?
Reach Out To Moms
Begin reaching out to other moms in the area. Start a conversation with moms whom you know and, maybe, you’ll find out that they are WAHWMs too, or that they know people who are. That’s going to help you reach out and find people with whom to connect. You can do that online, too.
Create a Website
You might want to create a website for your community. It can be super easy for you to build a website and create something that will allow other WAHWMs to find information and connect with you. You will also have somewhere to point people to as well.
Connect With People
Once you get started, make sure that you’re connecting with people who come to your website. You can do this with a traditional newsletter or by reaching out online too. Just make sure that you are trying to build this community and you’re creating content that they care about.
Plan Events
The next thing that you’re going to do is to consider planning events for people. When it comes to finding a community, real-life connections can be important. It doesn’t matter whether you put on an event once a year or once a week – just do it. You could host them somewhere fun, use a button maker to create merchandise, and make t-shirts, too. Also think about holding workshops for whatever it is that the community needs help with right now.
Give Them What They Need
The whole idea of having a community of WAHWMs is for you to be able to support each other. Therefore, the only way that you’re going to be able to make that happen is to understand the struggles. You can start tackling issues that you already deal with, but find out what everyone else needs help with, too. Then, give it to them. Create resources or host events and talks that will allow you to really help everyone in your community. This will help you to feel great, too.
