Grow your team

You might be reading this as you run your business alone, or perhaps you have a couple of people working alongside you now. Whatever your current situation, it makes sense that by growing your team, you will be better able to grow your business.

Every business comes to this stage at a different point, so you need to assess where your business sits on this one.

In the case of most business models, you will only be able to achieve so much by working alone, as there is only so much that you can achieve in any day or week. If you do choose to grow your team, you will need to hire well, train, develop and lead effectively and develop your own delegation skills.

Seek ways to run your business more smoothly

Look into anything that can make your business run more smoothly. This could be anything from using a VDR desktop app to switching around people’s working hours.

It is easy to be stuck in a certain way of doing things, so it is worth regularly taking time to stand back and try to look at things through fresh eyes and from different angles. If this is difficult to do, enlist the help of a member of your team so that they can offer you a new perspective.

You might need to make changes that are ongoing, or put in place temporary solutions; it is worth being open to all ideas and thinking outside of the box.

Run an event

It might be a launch party, a celebratory anniversary event or a big push around a new product or service. You will always be able to find something to build an event around, so put your thinking cap on and come up with a few ideas.

Running an event is a great way to make a name for your business and they can be fun to do. They will get you introductions to potential customers and help to cement relationships with existing customers.

Take to social media

Your business will often benefit from an online presence. At the very least, you will want a website in place, sharing all about what you do, highlighting your work and sharing your contact details. Additionally, many businesses utilize social media very effectively.

If you choose to set up social media accounts for your business, ensure the handles are consistent across each platform and use your logos and branding so that they are instantly recognizable.

You will need to share content regularly and interact and engage with others, so do only choose two to three platforms at most initially so that you can manage to keep up with them. It will be better to have only one social media account where you are present and chatty, than to have five that are rarely updated.
